Who are we?
The Munich International Women's Club e.V. (MIWC) is a social club acting as a source of contact to English-speaking women of all ages and nationalities living in Munich and the surrounding region. We have recently become a member of FAWCO and through this umbrella organisation have contact with other German groups, as well as those in other countries.
What do we offer?
Newcomers to Munich can feel at home in Munich faster through membership of the MIWC by getting support from women already established in Munich, German or otherwise. On offer are our monthly meetings with talks on a variety of topics, and participation in this energetic organization's many special interest groups, regular outings and celebrations.
The success of the activities organized by the MIWC depends on its members who all contribute in the organisation of our activities; our belief is that everyone is capable of doing something. This is the best way to get to know Munich and its surroundings. It is your club and we want you to be happy with it and in it.
Activities offered to members generally fall into five categories:
Coffees, Teas, Lunches, etc - here you will find all activities which allow you to get to know other members over food! New Members Coffees, Neighborhood Coffees, Cafe Trips, Monthly Lunches and Social Suppers. There is no reason to stay at home and eat alone.
Cultural Enrichment - these activities allow you to get to know your host country better. Visit museums and other cultural institutions, as well as places of interest in and around Bavaria with friends in the club.
Personal Enrichment - foreign language conversation groups, book discussions, gourmet cooking ... we hope you will pick up something new through your membership with us.
Fitness and Leisure - fun is the motto here. Tennis, badminton, walks, hiking tours, visiting the Oktoberfest, the Tollwood Festival ... there are so many things to do in Munich.
Mothers Corner - if you are about to have or already have small children, our Mothers Corner offers loads of activities to keep the little ones occupied. Get support and exchange valuable information on having and raising your children in a foreign environment. We even offer a baby-sitting service during the club meetings so that mothers do not miss out!
