Who are we?
The Munich International Women's Club e.V. (MIWC) is a social club offering opportunities for 'camaraderie, culture and contacts' to English-speaking women of all ages and nationalities living in Munich and the surrounding region.
What do we offer?
Newcomers to Munich will feel at home in Munich faster through membership in the MIWC by getting support from women who have been through the initial stages of coming to a foreign country not speaking any German and learning from their invaluable experiences. Women already established in Munich, German or otherwise, will enjoy attending the monthly meetings and participating in this energetic organization's many special interest groups, regular outings and celebrations.

Registration is free and allows you to attend up to three activities of your choice to help you decide whether you'd like to join us.
Although you choose a password during the registration process, this does not allow you full access to our website. This is only possible once your annual fee is paid and received by our Treasurer; this may take up to 2 weeks, so please be patient!.
As from January 2010, the annual fee is €45 (€20 from September onwards), with the membership year running from 01 February to 31 January the following year. Payment may be made either in cash at a monthly meeting or by bank transfer: Kreditinstitut: Deutsche Bank; Bankleitzahl: 70070024; Konto-Nr.: 438 679 300; Begünstiger: The Munich International Women’s Club e.V. In the two lines under Kunden-Referenznummer, please print ‘YOUR name’, the ‘year’ e.g.2010, and the word ‘DUES’. This makes it easier for us to avoid confusion if the bank account is in another person’s name.
The Club meetings take place on the second Wednesday of each month, usually from 10:00am to 12:30pm. We meet at the Peace Church near Sendlinger Tor (U1,U2,U3 & U6) - see their website (www.peacechurch.de) for detailed directions. We also have a few evening meetings throughout the year so that those of you working, or wishing to bring partners, have an opportunity to attend.You can also contact Helma Lehnert by e-mail or phone (089 170 8189), or Margaret Hilditch by e-mail or phone (08166 992 891) to make arrangements or to answer any questions.
Our monthly meetings are a time to socialise and learn something new at the same time. Each month we endeavour to invite experts to speak on topics that we think would interest members. 2010 is our 20th anniversary so we hope to arrange some celebrations to celebrate this achievement.
Through donations of toiletries and clothing we support the battered women’s shelter (the ‘Frauenhaus’), as well as raising money to enable the children to have outings at various times of the year. Recently we had a visit from one of the organisers who told us more about their work and the effect our support and donations have on the lives of the women as well as the children who live with their mothers in the Frauenhaus
